The goal is to guide the client through the program, instilling a sense of renewal and clarity, and maintaining the client’s physical and emotional health. Clients learn how to deal with daily needs and life’s demands. They learn to understand why they need to release the past as they move forward to a new future and recovery.
Skills Learned in the Detox Process
New behavioral patterns replace the old ones and help to rebuild the structure of family and friends. It starts with applying these newly learned principles within the facility, slowly interacting with the program groups, and eventually interacting with the outside world. Clients are taught to use other coping skills to deal with behavioral responses, emotional stress factors, building trust and self-confidence.
